Nabb Research Center 'Steps Back in Time' September 15

SALISBURY, MD---The Nabb Research Center celebrates the 18th century history and culture of Delmarva on Saturday, September 15, with the benefit event “Step Back in Time at Historic Pemberton Hall.”

From 4-7 p.m., guests are invited inside Pemberton Hall, Wicomico County’s only example of architecture from the 1700s that is open to the public.  The gambrel-roofed brick structure was built on the Wicomico River by Isaac and Anne Handy in 1741.

It is maintained by the Pemberton Hall Foundation, Inc., as part of the 262-acre Pemberton Historical Park.

During “Step Back in Time,” guests will have the opportunity to glimpse life on the colonial Eastern Shore.  They will be entertained with music and stories from that era, as well as refreshments.

Proceeds benefit the Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.  Its mission is to cultivate and sustain the advancement of scholarly research through collecting, preserving, disseminating and providing access to records and artifacts that illustrate the historical and cultural heritage of the greater Delmarva region.

Tickets are $35 per person.  The public is invited.  To reserve tickets, contact the Nabb Research Center at 410-543-6312.  For more information visit the Nabb Research Center Web site at http://nabbhistory.salisbury.edu.
