WHAT:  Salisbury University Remembers September 11

INFO:  Minute of Silence – 8:46 a.m.

SU commemorates the second anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on America with a minute of silence during the time the first hijacked plane crashed into the World Trade Center. The University carillon will toll at that time.

Gettysburg Address Reading – 4:30 p.m.

Fulton School of Liberal Arts students, faculty and staff at the fountain in front of Fulton Hall for a read Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. The address memorializes those who died for the cause of freedom and rededicates those who live to its ongoing preservation.

Candlelight Vigil – 8 p.m.

A candlelight vigil begins at Guerrieri University Center and proceeds to Red Square, where there will be an opportunity for participants to speak, sing and express their feelings about September 11. A message banner will be available for signatures and will later be displayed in the Commons Rotunda. SU’s Office of Student Activities, Organizations and Leadership will provide patriotic ribbons for those attending.
