SU Hosts 'Facing the Surge' Film Screening Friday, November 18

Facing the Surge Movie PosterSALISBURY, MD---Filmmaker Diogo Castro Freire launched the documentary project “Adaption Now” to help demonstrate how climate change is relevant to individuals.

Salisbury University hosts a screening of the project’s first film, Facing the Surge, during the event “Beyond the Election: Global Problem, Local Impacts, Local Actions” 5:30 p.m. Friday, November 18, at the Scarborough Student Leadership Center. A panel discussion follows. Light refreshments are provided.

Facing the Surge demonstrates the effect of sea level rise in Norfolk, VA, and the importance of local action to address it, along with the related global problem of climate change. SU’s screening is part of an East Coast tour hosted by Freire, author of When Climate Change Hits Home.

Sponsored by the Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts Sustainability Committee and the Environmental Studies Department, admission is free and the public is invited.
