'Hometown Heroes' Spotlights Youth Community Service Starting February 22

SALISBURY, MD---What positive contributions do young people make in Wicomico County? PAC 14 and Salisbury’s Promise: the Alliance for Youth at Salisbury University explore this topic during the premiere of Hometown Heroes Thursday, February 22.

Host Andrew Kitzrow highlights the volunteer activities of our young people. Learn where they volunteer, why they volunteer and what benefits they receive.  Kitzrow, a former AmeriCorps member, serves on the Salisbury’s Promise Board of Directors and is program director for Wicomico County Recreation, Parks and Tourism.

Salisbury’s Promise is a non-profit organization focusing on providing young people with caring adults, safe places, healthy start, marketable skills and an opportunity to serve.

Parents, teachers and non-profit organizations that want to nominate a young person to be on Hometown Heroes should contact George Whitehead, chair of Salisbury’s Promise, at 410-543-6369 or e-mail giwhitehead@salisbury.edu.

The show is scheduled to air at least quarterly. For programming and other information visit the PAC 14 Web site at www.pac14.org.
