FUNday- Aquatic Events  

SALISBURY, MD -- Salisbury State University is throwing open its doors, including those of the Maggs Aquatics Center, for a day of fun and frolic in the University pool on FUNday, Saturday, September 23. Bring your swimsuits and a towel. All events are free!

10:30 a.m.-Noon. SCUBA. Maggs Pool. Join SSU’s answer to Jacques Cousteau as PADI Accredited dive instructor John Kiser demonstrates the basics of SCUBA diving. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to have your SCUBA questions answered.

Noon-12:30 p.m. Man Overboard! Maggs Pool. Don’t wait until The Perfect Storm to learn basic water rescue techniques. No need to even get wet as our pool staff shows how to handle an emergency.

1- 3 p.m. Open Swim. Maggs Pool. Swim laps, work on your butterfly technique, do underwater headstands, or just relax in our 25-meter swimming pool. Open for everyone to enjoy.

3-4:30 p.m. Pool Games. Maggs Pool. You don’t have to be Michael Jordon or Larry Bird to participate in our water basketball game. In fact, tell the whole family to bring their swimsuits because all ages are invited. Basketball in the shallow end and dive for treasure in the deep.

On FUNday (Festival for University Neighbors), SSU is celebrating its 75th birthday with a party for the entire Eastern Shore. Some 100 events are planned. Call the SSU Public Relations Office at 410-543-6030 for more information.
