Byrnes E.S. Regional Safe Communities Director 

SALISBURY, MD--F. Christian (Chris) Byrnes was recently hired as the Eastern Shore Regional Safe Communities director. The Safe Communities Center, located on the campus of Salisbury State University, is a grant funded partnership between SSU and the Maryland Highway Safety Office. The center’s purpose is to provide traffic safety programs and research materials to educational professional, community leaders and the general public.

Byrnes is a 1996 graduate of George Mason University, with a Bachelor of Science in public administration. Since starting, Byrnes has been trained both as instructor and a child passenger safety seat technician by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
