SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Thomas W. Jones, dean of the Salisbury State University Henson School of Science and Technology, speaks on "Public Perception of Chesapeake Bay Environmental Problems, at the Chesapeake Bay in the 21st Century Conference in the Wicomico Room of SSU’s Guerrieri University Center on Tuesday, October 17, at 7 p.m..

A well-known marine research scientist, Jones pursues work in the eutrophication of coastal aquatic environments like the Chesapeake Bay.

Jones has received the Salisbury State Distinguished Faculty Award and was designated "Educator of the Year" in 1997 by the Maryland Association for Higher Education.

According to Jones, "water quality, will be one of the most important issues confronting populations in the mid-Atlantic region in the new century.
