Wilson Wins Bernstein Award

SALISBURY, MD—Two non-traditional students are this year’s winners of the Perdue School’s Bernstein Competition.

Janet Lynne Wilson, a liberal studies major in the Fulton School of Liberal Arts, wins top prize of $5,000 for her business proposal, “Stripe Tech,” an ornamental detailing service for cars.  

Runner-up is Charles Krams Jr., another non-traditional student in the Perdue School, for his proposal titled “Flooring Dimensions,” which received a $1,000 prize.  The night before, Kramms received the Perdue School’s Best Management Student Award.

The four finalists’ presentations were well attended, said Dr. Stephen Adams, competition coordinator, and with some 26 entries, the most in the Bernstein Award’s 16-year history.

“It’s great to say that the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well at Salisbury University,” he said. “That is not just good for the campus community, but bodes well for the economic future of Delmarva.”
