Wicomico Health Department Honors Two From BEACON

class=""MsoNormal"">SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Memo Diriker and Ms. Ruth Baker of the Business Economic and Community Outreach Network (BEACON) at the Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University are the co-recipients of the 2005 Wicomico County Outstanding Public Health Leader award.

class=""MsoNormal"">This is the highest honor given to a local resident from the Wicomico County Health Department.

class=""MsoNormal"">Diriker, director of BEACON and Baker, managing director, were honored for their dedication to the health and well being of the citizens of Wicomico County through their work on projects such as: Shore Transit, community visioning activities for environmental health, elder care and elder wellness public awareness, and several tobacco prevention marketing campaigns.
