Salisbury Film Society Presents 'Snowpiercer' Sunday, March 8

Snow Piercer PosterSALISBURY, MD—The Salisbury Film Society presents the post-apocalyptic thriller Snowpiercer 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 8, in Fulton Hall 111.

The film is set in a future where a failed climate change experiment kills all life on the planet except for a lucky few who boarded the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe, where a class system emerges. The group’s leader Curtis (Chris Evans) will risk everything to guide a revolt for control of the engine and the future of the world.

Snowpiercer is a slambam sci-fi thriller with a brain, a heart and an artful sense of purpose” said Peter Travers of Rolling Stone. Claudia Puig of USA Today saw “a rare hybrid that perfectly blends the dazzle of a futuristic action thriller with the intellectual substance of an art film”.

The series is co-sponsored by the Salisbury Wicomico Arts Council (SWAC) and SU’s Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts. A group discussion follows. The last offering of the series features Haute Cuisine April 5.

Tickets are $9, $8 for SWAC members, free for college and university students with ID. For more information call 410-543-ARTS (2787) or visit the SWAC website at www.543arts.org.
