SU's BEACON welcomes international students

SALISBURY, MD-- BEACON, Salisbury University's Business, Economic and Community Outreach Network, welcomes an international staff of students research associates this spring semester. BEACON, an affiliate of SU's Franklin P. Perdue School of Business, offers business, economic and community development consulting and assistance service to a variety of clients. With a team of student researchers originating from countries including France, Turkey, Mexico and the United States, BEACON thrives on diversity.

Returning to BEACON this spring semester are Audrey Carrein, Babur Coskay, Janitzio Ouattara, Harsh Sutaria and Stephanie Powell.

Carrein, a graduate of Ecole Superieure de Commerce in Rennes, France, is currently working toward a Master of Business Administration from the Perdue School.

Coskay is working at BEACON to gain experience as an e-commerce consultant. He is originally from Istanbul, Turkey and graduated this past December from the M.B.A. program at SU.

Born in Cuba, but raised in Mexico by a mother from Chile and father from Mexico, Ouattara is currently working on the Individual Development Account (IDA) project for the Somerset County Department of Social Services.

A graduate of SU and originally from Cambridge, MD, Sutaria has been working as a consultant with BEACON since January. He has worked on several projects including preparing e-commerce training manuals and helping with Project Management Software.

Powell, from Fredrick, MD, is a freshman at SU and is continuing to work in her second semester as an office assistant.

New members of the BEACON team this spring include Billy Biggs and Rachel Zitnik.

Biggs is an undergraduate from Lexington Park, MD, studying information systems at SU. He will graduate this spring, then return to Salisbury this summer to work toward an M.B.A.

Another undergraduate at Salisbury University, Zitnik is a resident of Baltimore. She is a junior studying business administration with a concentration in marketing. Zitnik is teamed with Carrein researching information for American Dehydrated Foods, Inc.
