Perdue Students Win Federal Reserve Challenge

SALISBURY, MD---Five Salisbury University students in the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business were recently honored along with their families and coach, Dr. Ying Wu of SU's Department of Economics and Finance, by the Federal Reserve Bank in Baltimore. The Perdue School team took first place in the sixth annual College Fed Challenge, a competition analyzing data to recommend possible changes in interest rates. "Unlike some of the other campuses, Salisbury has been competing for only two years. Within two years you were winning. We're very proud of you," said Federal Reserve Senior Manager Gordon Woelper. Competitors included campuses within the Federal Reserve District of Richmond such as Gettysburg and Loyola colleges and the United States Naval Academy. The SU trophy was presented at a festive Federal Reserve Bank luncheon in Baltimore. Pictured (left-right) are students Zelaleme Tamre, team coordinator Zachary Richards, Tyler Wickline, Bryan Shone and Andrew Doyle and Wu. Also attending was Dr. William Moore, Perdue School dean.
