National French Week Continues Through Friday, November 5

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University’s Department of Modern Languages celebrates National French Week (November 1-7) with beaucoup d’activities, highlighted by a French dinner served in the Commons Wednesday, November 3. The dinner, from 5-7 p.m. in the Bistro, features salmon, ham, chicken, and assorted vegetables and desserts; French music plays in the background.  Cost is $9.40. Events continue with a screening of the French film Bandits 7-9 p.m. Thursday, November 4, in Caruthers Hall Room 106. The video includes English subtitles.  Directed by Claude Lelouch, the film follows Simon Verini, a modern-day Robin Hood who seems to have everything: a lovely wife, a beautiful daughter and an insatiable appetite for jewelry. A failed $10 million heist from Cartier’s lands him in jail for 10 years. His quest for revenge, his reunion with his daughter and some unforeseen suitors create an interesting scenario. SU’s French Week events conclude with a meeting of La Société Française, the campus French conversational organization, at Adam’s Ribs in Fruitland from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Friday, November 5. All events are free unless otherwise noted. The public is invited. For more information call 410-543-6030 or visit the SU Web site at www.salisbury.edu.
