Nabb Research Center Presents ''Tis the Season' Exhibit November 1-December 17

SALISBURY, MD---Many people today send holiday greeting cards—but holiday postcards? That’s a different story.

Salisbury University’s Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture Gallery explores this largely lost tradition in the exhibit “’Tis the Season: Vintage Postcards in American Memory” November 1-December 17. The gallery is located in SU’s East Campus Complex, 190 Wayne St.

“’Tis the Season” features cards from Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s, routinely sent to families, friends and loved ones from the late 19th through the mid-20th centuries. Sometimes somber, often sentimental and frequently irreverent, these postcards reflect holiday traditions and feelings from a bygone era.

Gallery hours are 1-4 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays or by appointment. Admission is free and the public is invited.
