Nabb Center Presents 'Eastern Shore Holiday' Exhibit Through Dec. 18

SALISBURY, MD---The Edward H. Naab Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture hosts an open house to celebrate the opening of its new exhibit, “An Eastern Shore Holiday: Greetings and Gifts,” Wednesday, December 2, from 4-6 p.m.

The exhibit presents a changing view of the holiday season and gift-giving from 1880-1920 using a vast collection of toys and household artifacts. It demonstrates how the affluence of Victorian society encouraged a preoccupation with visible displays of possessions and wealth.

“An Eastern Shore Holiday” continues through Friday, December 18. Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Visitors are asked to check in at the center’s Reading Room before entering the gallery.

Sponsored by the Nabb Research Center, admission is free and the public is invited. For more information call 410-543-6312 or visit the Nabb Research Center Web site at http://nabbhistory.salisbury.edu.
