Modern Languages celebrates French Week

SALISBURY, MD ---Salisbury University's Department of Modern Languages celebrates National French Week (November 7-13) with beaucoup d' activities, highlighted by a French dinner served in the Commons building on campus on Tuesday, November 5.

The dinner, from 5-7 p.m. in the Bistro, features salmon, duck, chicken, and assorted vegetables and desserts; French music plays in the background. Cost is $8.50 and the public is invited.

Other events that week include a meeting of La Société Française, a group which converses in French each month at Adam's Ribs in Fruitland from 4:30-5:30 p.m. on Friday, November 1; a presentation by current SU students who have studied in France on Thursday, November 7, from 4-5 p.m. in Caruthers Hall Room 111; a talk by Dr. Wayne Ackerson of the History Department about his trip to Senegal this summer on Monday, November 11, from 7-8 p.m. in Fulton Hall Room 134; and a showing of the film My Father's Glory (French with English subtitles) on Tuesday, November 12, from 7-9 p.m. in Caruthers Hall Room 108.

The American Association of Teachers of French designated National French Week to raise awareness of French language and culture.
