Management Class Donates $1,220 to Humane Society

SALISBURY, MD---Lady Luck smiled upon animals at the Humane Society of Wicomico County recently as Salisbury University’s Promotions and Management 331 class raised $1,220 for the society with its Texas Hold’em poker tournament. Charged with creating a project through which the class could demonstrate their management ability, event leaders Ken Bowen, Kim Marshall and Kris Todd considered one of the nation’s biggest fads: poker. Some 88 entrants competed at 11 tables for 13 prizes. Winners were: First place: Brian Dent – Centre at Salisbury gift certificate Second place: Rick Schneider – Centre at Salisbury gift certificate Third place: Dave Summey – Four rounds of golf at Nutter’s Crossing Golf Club Fourth place: Nick Blanton – Four passes to Delmarva Paintball Fifth place: Don Mullin – Four rounds of golf at Wood Creek Golf Course Sixth place: Jimmy Jones – One month membership to Powerhouse Gym Seventh place: Barry Snowden – Dinner at Charisma Eighth place: Mike Sipes – Mulligan’s gift card Ninth place: Tom Walsh – Wal-Mart gift card Tenth place: Brad Veras – Olive Garden gift card Eleventh place: Charles Parsons – Applebee’s gift card Twelfth place: Shane Endicott – Red Lobster gift card Female winner: Maria Morita – Five tanning sessions from All About Tan Students organizing the event included Tom Ayd, Cayla Bollinger, Adam Roop, Tyler Barnes, Christian Phillips, Michelle Schweinsburg, Steve Kansler, Jen Alonso, Tim Frisch, John Sager, Keith Hovance, Adam Hamilton and A.J.
