Investiture/Fall Convocation Ceremony September 19

SALISBURY, MD -- Dr. Janet Dudley-Eshbach will be "invested" as the eighth president of Salisbury State University on Tuesday, September 19, at 3:30 p.m. in Holloway Hall Auditorium. A reception follows on the Fulton Hall lawn. (Rain location for reception is Social Room and Great Hall.)

The Investiture will coincide with Fall Convocation, the annual ceremonial opening of the academic year in which all students, but freshmen in particular, are welcomed to the University community. Fall Convocation also features the recognition of student scholars and those earning Dean's List recognition from the spring.

Dudley-Eshbach's speech that day, "hotfuture.com," will be directed especially toward those students who, like her, are new to SSU.

The University will be honored by the presence of Maryland Gov. Parris Glendening at the Fall Convocation/Investiture, as well as University System of Maryland Chancellor Donald Langenberg and USM Board of Regents Chairman Nathan Chapman. All will speak at the ceremony.

Faculty will dress in their regalia and following the Processional will be seated on stage facing the audience.

Seating in Holloway Hall Auditorium is by ticket only.
