Historic Water's Edge Hosts Nabb Research Center Fundraiser June 3

SALISBURY, MD---In the 1920s, Water’s Edge in West Ocean City, MD, was a hunting retreat for the rich and famous.

Supporters of the Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture at Salisbury University may experience the historic waterfront estate for themselves 4:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 3, as Mrs. John Dale Showell III, the current owner, and her daughter and Nabb board member Sarah Showell host the center’s annual spring fundraiser.

The evening features food by Phillips Seafood Restaurants and drinks by Castle in the Sand. Zeb B. Barfield hosts live and silent auctions including designer earrings from Christos D. Dimas of Palm Beach, FL; an oil painting by Eastern Shore artist Kevin Fitzgerald; and a week in September at Mrs. Showell’s oceanfront condominium in Ocean City, MD.

Proceeds benefit the Nabb Research Center, whose mission is to cultivate and sustain the advancement of scholarly research through collecting, preserving, disseminating and providing access to records and artifacts that illustrate the historical and cultural heritage of the greater Delmarva region.

Tickets are $60 per person and may be reserved by calling 410-543-6312 or e-mailing rcdhac@salisbury.edu. For more information visit the Nabb Research Center Web site at http://nabbhistory.salisbury.edu.
