Gloth Speaks on 'Fit at 50 and Beyond' October 12 at SU

SALISBURY, MD---Each year, the Eastern Shore Senior Games at Salisbury University offer area seniors three days of friendly sports competition—but what about staying fit the rest of the year?

Dr. Michael Gloth, associate professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, speaks on “Fit at 50 and Beyond” 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, in the Nanticoke Room of the Guerrieri University Center. His talk was rescheduled from last April.

Gloth’s book, Fit at 50 and Beyond: a Balanced Exercise and Nutrition Program, has been called “a wonderful senior wellness health guide.” Midwest Book Review says it is “well worth the investment for those who have passed the half-century mark.”

In addition to his work as an author, Gloth is also an editor of medical books including the Handbook of Pain Relief for Older Adults. He has presented on topics such as hospice care, pain management and geriatrics for more than three decades.

Sponsored by the SU Nursing Department, in part by a grant from the Johns Hopkins Geriatric Education Center Consortium, admission to Gloth’s talk is free and the public is invited.
