'A Year in Bloom' Exhibit at SU March 10-April 21

SALISBURY, MD---The lush greenery and colorful flowers of the Delmarva Peninsula are on view at Salisbury University during the exhibit “A Year in Bloom: Native Plants of the Eastern Shore” March 10-April 21 in the Atrium Gallery of the Guerrieri University Center. An opening reception is 5-7 p.m. Friday, March 10.

The exhibit spotlights the work of local watercolor artist Linda Hand McGee. Inspired by Vincent Van Gogh and strongly influenced by her natural environment, Hand is a native of Berlin, MD. A graduate of Stephen Decatur High School, she earned her B.F.A. from the Maryland Institute of Art, graduating Cum Laude in 1965. She continued her study of painting with John Cleary in SU’s Art Department.

Hand has won numerous juried show awards. Her works are a part of private collections throughout the East Coast. She is a member of the Chesapeake College Art Advisory Committee, which provides art scholarships for local students. Sponsored by the Salisbury University Galleries, the exhibit and reception are free and the public is invited. Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday.
