SU Honors Rob Schultheis with 'Run The Boards Like Rob' Memorial 5K Run and Walk October 14

Rob SchultheisSALISBURY, MD---When Salisbury University Alumni Association Past President Rob Schultheis died suddenly after an accident while jogging near his Fruitland neighborhood, it left a void on campus and beyond.

This year, SU honors Schultheis by partnering with organizers for the third annual “Run the Boards Like Rob” memorial 5K run and walk, scheduled Sunday, October 14, as part of the University’s annual Homecoming and Family Weekend activities.

The race takes place on the Ocean City, MD, boardwalk, one of Schultheis’ favorite running locations. Proceeds benefit the Robert Schultheis Memorial Scholarship at SU.

Day-of registration and check-in begins at 8 a.m. at the Dough Roller restaurant, 606 S. Atlantic Ave., near the Ocean City inlet. Cost is $30. The run begins at 9 a.m. Pre-registration is available at https://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/eventReg?oeidk=a07ef4r973j117ea7dc&oseq=&c=&ch=.

A Baltimore native, Schultheis moved to the Eastern Shore to attend SU, earning his B.S. in elementary education in 2000. A district sales manager for Sysco Eastern Maryland, he was involved in a number of organizations, including many area civic and running clubs, and was well known throughout the community.

A “Live Life Like Rob” movement, created by friends and family shortly after his passing, continues to encourage others to adopt the community spirit and joie de vivre for which he was known.
