Juilliard Performance" March 14: Ayman Jarjour, Classical Guitarist

SALISBURY, MD--Salisbury State Universityâs Juilliard Series continues on Sunday, March 14, with a presentation by classical guitarist Ayman Jarjour. His presentation, free and open to the public, is at 2 p.m., in the Wicomico Room of SSUâs Guerrieri University Center.

A native of Syria, Jarjour is currently a Master of Music student at The Juilliard School. He has been the recipient of the Community Service Fellowship from the Gluck Foundation and Peer Mentor of the Juilliard Colloquium. Having made his recital debut in Damascus in 1983, he has performed internationally in Jordan, Germany, Lebanon and Spain and also, most recently, in New York, Boston and Taiwan.

Jarjour, who speaks five languages, received his Bachelor of Music in 1994 from the Royal Conservatory of Madrid, Spain, and has taught at the High Institute of Music in Damascus, Syria and the Arab Conservatory of Music in Damascus. In February 1997, Jarjour performed a solo with the Syrian National Symphony Orchestraâs premiere of Rodrigoâs "Concierto de Aranjuez" which was broadcast on the satellite TV channel across the Mediterranean.
