Clara Small Keynote Speaker at NAACP Banquet

SALISBURY, MD--Dr. Clara L. Small, associate professor of history in the Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts at Salisbury State University, was the keynote speaker at the Plymouth Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Annual Freedom Fund Banquet, in Plymouth, NC, recently. Small's topic was Preparing for the Future.

Founded in 1909 the NAACP's purpose is to serve as a biracial coalition pledged to advance the civil and political rights of African-Americans. Its emphasis is to effect change by lobbying for corrective legislation, educating public opinion and securing favorable court decisions.
