Salisbury University recently showed its appreciation to faculty, staff and student employees who attended Employee Appreciation Day festivities on Thursday, June 12. Events were planned by the Staff Senate.
SU President Janet Dudley-Eshbach welcomed lunchtime guests to a free "all-you-care-to-eat" indoor picnic in the Commons, sponsored by her office. (A second picnic also was held for evening employees.) The President thanked everyone for their commitment to the University, adding: "You are all part of this team that is Salisbury University, and because of you our profile and reputation continue to grow."
All of SU's 2013-14 Employees of the Month were spotlighted during the event, and Lt. Sandra Bradley of University Police was named Employee of the Year, earning a $1,000 check. Joined by Sammy the Sea Gull, staff senators also drew names for door prizes, donated by offices and departments across campus. In addition, the SU Bookstore offered a 25 percent discount on clothing and gifts.
Before the picnic, information sessions were held on cybersecurity, saving energy, discrimination and public safety. All employees also were offered a discounted $30 registration to Sea Gull Century, which they still may take advantage of through Monday, September 22, by calling at 410-548-2772.
