Welcome to Salisbury University!
I applaud you on your decision to accept
admission to our institution. New
Students have a great deal of
information to process regarding issues
of academic, social and personal
adjustment to university life. To assist
you in your transition, the Office of
New Student Experience has designed an
orientation experience to help acclimate
you to the SU community.
New
Student Experience
New student experience is designed for
all new freshman students and new
students that have completed less than
24 credit hours. The new student
experience is comprised of the following
three programs and attendance at each
program is required:
Designed for students admitted for the
2010-11 academic year-

Preview – (June 14-18; June 21-25,
2010) |
Preview is a one day course advising and registration program for new students
to get an overview of University life
and to register for your
Fall, 2009
schedule.

New
Student Orientation– (August 26-29,
2010)
New Student Orientation is a four day
transition program comprised of
residence hall move in, academic and
student services programs, getting
to know one
another, and social fun! This program is
designed to help
you get acclimated to the campus before
classes begin.

New Student Outdoor Programs (Summer
2010)
New Student Outdoor programs are special
outdoor summer experiences
designed to connect incoming freshman to
their peers, current student leaders
and faculty staff. New students are
invited to participate in one of the six
programs that will provide an
opportunity to build lasting
friendships, initiate self
discovery and learn about SU before the
first day of classes ever begin!

Transfer Student Experience
Designed for transfer students admitted
for the 2010-11 academic year.
Transfer student orientation is designed
for all students transferring to the
University with more than 24 credit
hours completed. The transfer
student experience is comprised of the
following transition experiences:

Transfer Preview -(June 21-25,
2010)
Designed for students admitted for
the Fall semester 2010.
Preview is a half day course advising
and registration program for transfer
students to get an overview of
University life and to register for your
Fall, 2010 schedule.

note: participation in new student
outdoor programs outside of preview for
transfer students with more than 24
credits is optional. Transfer
students are invited to attend new
student orientation and new student
outdoor programs on a space available
basis. Please contact the Office

Parent & Family Orientation
We recognize that going to college is a
new chapter not only in the lives of the
student, but also in the lives of
parents, relatives, and significant
others. Parents and family members
are invited to be involved in
orientation programs as outlined in the
programs below.
