ART 121-002 DESIGN PRINCIPLES Introduction to and development of knowledge and comprehension of the underlying principles of visual composition, through the creation of designs. Bulk supplies are provided, but students need to furnish some materials. Major Corequisite: ART 130; no corequisite for non-majors. Six hours per week. Meets General Education IIIA or IIIC (Prior to Fall 2008: IB).
ART 299-151 SOPHOMORE SEMINAR A mid-career forum for student debate and discussion concerning plurality of style, content and formal issues important to contemporary art. Professional and studio practices of artists and designers are introduced, allowing student to make the most of upper-level courses later in their academic career. Prerequisites: Art majors only, sophomore standing or above. Three hours per week.
