  • SOWK 200-610 INTRO SOCIAL WORK & WELFAR
    Introduction to social work as a profession. Examination of the social welfare system as society’s response to human need and structure for delivery of social services. Overview of fields of social welfare service and social work roles in each field. Twenty-five hours of volunteer service in a social agency required. Three hours per week.

  • SOWK 482-702 DEATH & DYING & SOCIAL WORK
    Introduction to the history, theoretical concepts, cultural traditions and clinical interventions related to the field of death and dying and how it pertains to social work. Traditional as well as contemporary models are explored. Prerequisite: Junior or senior status or permission of instructor. Three hours per week.
