ART 441-101 PAINTING IV Advanced experience requiring an individual theme and goals using one of the following media: watercolor, oil, acrylic or agreed upon substitute. Development of a professional portfolio. Sketch books and written papers required. Students furnish their own materials. Prerequisite: ART 440. Six hours per week.
ART 490-102 INDEPENDENT STUDY Directed study in one or a combination of studio disciplines. Students furnish their own materials. May be repeated once under different subtitle, for a total of no more than six credits. May be offered for undergraduate or graduate credit. Prerequisites: ART 390, approval of the department chair prior to registration.

ART 130-101 DRAWING I Introduction to basic drawing principles, using a combination of black and white media in the exploration of linear and tonal elements. Students furnish their own materials. B.A. and B.F.A. core. Major Corequisite: ART 121; no corequisite for non-majors. Six hours per week. Meets General Education IIIA or IIIC (Prior to Fall 2008: IB).
