College of Health and Human Services

The College provides high quality programs that prepare students for productive careers as professionals in the areas of health and human services. With undergraduate degrees in public health, social work, nursing, exercise science, respiratory therapy, and medical laboratory science; master’s programs in health and human performance, nursing and social work; and a doctoral program in nursing practice, the College provides a wide array of programs that all meet national standards for excellence.

Mission

Salisbury University’s College of Health and Human Services develops career-ready students for professional practice and/or advanced studies. Utilizing evidence-based, inter-professional, and student-centered strategies, we develop culturally competent, ethically grounded practitioners with comprehensive professional expertise. College faculty, staff, and students engage in activities to advance knowledge, serve local communities, and promote lifelong learning.

Driving Strategies

  • DS1: Develop a catalog of current, planned, and potential degrees and other educational offerings (including interdisciplinary) by student segment (i.e. age segments, geographic segments, etc.)
  • DS2: Prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion within the College.
  • DS3: Develop a comprehensive community engagement action plan.
  • DS4: Identify and pursue opportunities for resource development with appropriate campus support units (Grants, Advancement, CELL, etc.)
  • DS5: Formalize the function of the CHHS advisory committee to include ongoing review, management, and communication of CHHS organizational structure, policies, and procedures.
  • DS6: Develop/Implement a comprehensive branding strategy and marketing action plan.
  • DS7: Develop a comprehensive CHHS Facilities Master Plan in collaboration with appropriate campus support units (Facilities Planning, Grants, Advancement, etc.).

Within the magazine, we showcase other points of pride for the College, including our community engagement, grant activities and state-of-the-art Henson Medical Simulation Center.

Professional Behavior Violations

Each School and/or Program within the CHHS maintains written policies and related procedures for breaches of non-academic standards. In the event of a violation of these standards, the School and/or Program may recommend the student for dismissal. If the student has exhausted all appeals at the School and/or Program level, they may appeal to the CHHS Professional Behavior Committee by completing the Professional Behavior Violation Appeal Request Form.
