Library
Research Assistant Blackwell Library is seeking a graduate
student to work at the library reference desk approximately 10 hours per
week. This position will require working rotating
Friday/Saturday/Sunday evening and weekend hours as well as weekday
hours of your choosing. Primary job duty is to assist library uses
in searching databases and locating materials in the library.
Other projects maybe assigned based on individual talents and interest.
The library will provide any and all training as needed Salary is $9.00
per hour and IS NOT A GRADUATE ASSISTANT POSITION. Work begins
Fall Semester 2008. Qualifications: Strong public service
orientation and ability to work with library patrons in a friendly,
comfortable manner. Good oral communications skills.
Dependability is a must. Basic computer and web skills are
essential. You must be enrolled in a Salisbury University graduate

Guerrieri
University Center Information Desk Attendant.
Operate various equipment (cash register, fax machine, laminator,
copier, computer, telephone and safe), sale of tickets for student
activities and related events, sale of all retail and sundry items,
distribute campus and community information to students, staff, faculty
and visitors, distribute magazines and newspapers, direct traffic to
various meeting rooms and areas in the University Center, pass along
comments and requests of patrons, offer suggestions for improvement, and
other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Basic Qualifications: Positive mental attitude, ability to handle
responsibility, ability to show initiative, good communication skills,
ability to work with all types of people, ability to answer questions
courteously and concisely and to dispense information effectively.
Skills: Ability to handle money accurately and use a cash register,
ability to use (or agree to use) a fax machine, copier, laminator,
telephone and computer.
Physical: Clean appearance, wears the information desk shirt while
on duty.
Academic: Must be a Salisbury University student and possess a 2.0 GPA
or higher.
Desirable Qualifications: Leadership qualities, computer skills include
Microsoft Word and similar applications, and desire to assume
responsibility for on the job projects.
Job Requirements: Work 5-15 hours per week depending on class schedule,
work weekends, ability to work nights as needed, ability to work on
Parents Weekend and other special events as needed, agree to come back
to work on the day the dorms open (usually two days before classes
begin) and work until the dorms close- this includes holidays and end of
the semester, and work after your graduation. Agree to carry out
the policies and procedures of the University Center and Salisbury
University.

Writing Center. University Writing Center Consultant.
Application Procedure: We are now accepting applications. Successful
candidates would enroll in a Spring 2008 training course and begin
working at the Writing Center in Fall 2008. Visit the Writing Center to

under “Join Our Staff.” The Writing Center director will screen
applications and offer interviews to selected job candidates. Rate
of Pay: $8 per hour. Part-time. The number of students who work as
peer consultants during any one semester varies depending upon funding,
the needs of the Center, and the number of peer consultants available.
The number of hours any one student works is negotiated each semester;
the normal work load is 6-12 hours per week. Students are paid by the
hour for their work in the Center and for any staff development meetings
held at the Center. Position Description: Consultants will work
one-on-one with student writers, providing relevant feedback about the
student’s text and facilitating the student’s growth as a writer.
Requirements: Consultants must possess strong writing and interpersonal
skills. They will need to be attentive listeners who can work
collaboratively with others and can develop rapport quickly with student
writers. This position requires flexibility and versatility, since
clients who visit the Center have a wide range of writing abilities,
learning styles, and personality traits. Applicants must have
successfully completed at least one writing-intensive course at
Salisbury University. Students from all majors are welcome to apply.
Those who are hired as consultants must complete required training and
all related training assignments. If you are offered the job as
writing consultant, you must register for a three-credit training class
(ENGL 494), which you must complete to the satisfaction of the
University Writing Center director before you start tutoring in the

Clerical Assistant Student Affairs Office
Guerrieri University Center, Room 212 The Student Affairs office
has an opening for a dependable freshmen or sophomore student to fill a
position of Student Clerical Assistant and to continue in that capacity
for subsequent semesters until graduation. Applicant should be
available to work Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00a.m. – 1:00p.m. for
the fall 2008 semester. Please note the usual work hours are
approximately ten hours each week, but we have all hours covered by
other students for this semester. Typically assigned hours are based on
student’s available hours and coordination with other Student Assistant
schedules. Responsibilities include excellent telephone and people
skills, filing, photocopying and sorting mail. Microsoft Word and
other computer skills are a plus. Must be dedicated, punctual and
possess the ability to maintain confidentiality. Please

Classroom Technology Services is currently accepting applications for
employment for the Fall semester. Our department supports
technology in the classrooms. You must have a good working knowledge of
computers. This position requires someone who can conduct themselves in
a professional manner and be extremely dependable. You must be able to
work in a fast paced environment and in all weather conditions. You must

Graduate
Assistant for Greek Life & Leadership. Reporting to the
Student Life Coordinator, the GA for Greek Life will assist with the
overall operations of the Greek Life Program serving approximately 400
initiated and new members in 6 fraternities and 5 sororities. The GA
will support the advising, leadership development, programming and
recruitment efforts of the IFC, Panhellenic Council, Order of Omega,
Greek Steering Committee and Greek Week Committee. The GA will serve as
advisor to the National Society for Leadership & Success and collaborate
with Residence Life on activities for the living learning community
“Lead Scholars”. The GA will develop and facilitate leadership programs
such as the Leadership Lecture Series, Regional Conference, Leadership
Retreat and Leadership Workshop Series. The GA will participate in all
designated OSAO&L team projects, including weekly staff meetings,

Graduate
Assistant for Student Activities & Programming,
Reporting to the Director of Student Activities, Organizations and
Leadership, the GA for Student Activities & Programming will assist with
the overall operations of the OSAO&L, including oversight of 100
registered student clubs and organizations. The GA will assist in the
development and facilitation of event planning and leadership
development activities sponsored by the OSAO&L. The GA will serve as the
advisor to the student programming board (SOAP) and co-advisor to the
Student Government Association. The GA will coordinate Welcome Week
activities and supervise undergraduate chair persons. The GA will
participate in all OSAO&L team projects including weekly meetings,
concerts, service events, etc. The GA will hold regular office hours
during the day and be available for select night and weekend events as

Healthy U of Delmarva Graduate Assistantship.
Division of University Advancement, Salisbury University. University
Advancement is seeking graduate student applicants for an assistantship
starting the Fall 2008 semester to serve as the Healthy U of Delmarva
Graduate Assistant. Based on performance, this opportunity is renewable

hours per week for University Advancement as the Healthy U of Delmarva
Graduate Assistant to involve but not limited to the following:
Recruit individual and group memberships. Manage day-to-day office
requests. Coordinate new health initiatives with University Advancement.
Promote Healthy U programs on campus and in the community. Collect and
maintain data of members and programs. Update website calendar of
activities. Participate in monthly meets with local non-profits.

SPORTS INFORMATION GRADUATE ASSISTANT
SALISBURY UNIVERSITY (Md.)
Salisbury University’s Sports Information Office is seeking a highly
motivated and energetic graduate assistant for the 2008-09 academic
year.
Applicants for the position must be accepted into a SU graduate program
and have a bachelor's degree in either journalism, communications or
sport management and/or have related experience in athletic media
relations. A proven background in writing, meeting deadlines and strong
communication skills are a must.
The successful candidate will assist in the coverage of the Sea Gulls’
21 varsity sports with specific sport responsibilities assigned upon
hiring. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, game-day
operations and management, statistics, athletic publications, Web site
maintenance, media relations and press release writing, and assisting in
the overseeing and development of student assistants working in the
office
The successful candidate will have graduate school tuition paid for and
will receive a bi-weekly stipend. This position may be renewable for a
second year.

Graduate
Assistant The Financial Aid Office at Salisbury University is
seeking a graduate student assistant for the 2008-2009 academic year
with a start date in August 2008. The graduate assistant will be
responsible for performing data entry and analysis as well as updating
and reconciling loan, grant and scholarship disbursements. This position
is also expected to provide office and customer support and will be
assigned special projects as the need arises. The assistantship requires
a high level of professionalism as well as confidentiality and the
student is expected to work 20 hours per week. Proficiency in Microsoft
Excel and Word is required and a background in accounting is preferred.
This position will be awarded for one academic year and offers a stipend
and tuition remission for up to 18 credit hours per academic year.
Enrollment in a Master’s degree program is required for this graduate
student position and students must be registered for a course load of at
least 6-9 masters’ level credits per semester. Applicants should apply
