When Is Internship: Summer 2013

Description Of Internship: This upcoming summer, a special group of outstanding Undergraduate and Graduate or Post-doctorate students will be selected to participate in the FBI Cyber Internship Program. As an FBI Cyber Intern, you will receive on the job training and exposure to national and international cyber investigations.

- 10-week Paid Internship in local Field Offices and resident agencies in the Northeast, Southeast, North Central, South Central, Northwest, Southwest and Washington, DC Metropolitan area
- Students are paid a salary commensurate with their education level
- Students will receive annual leave, sick leave, and paid federal holidays
- Efforts will be made to tailor your internship experience along with your major, especially for those students involved in a work-study program (such as a cooperative education requirement)
- Work side-by-side with Special Agents and Professional Staff personnel on important cases and management issues
- Obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance
- Gain insight into the full breadth of FBI careers and explore possible FBI employment after graduation
- Continuance during the school year for a minimum of 16 hours per month requires a satisfactory rating from supervisor at the end of the 10 week summer program and space available with the Headquarters Division, Field Office, or resident agency.  

Qualifications: Those students who are selected to the FBI Cyber Internship must meet ALL of the following criteria:
- A US citizen
- Attending a college or university that is accredited by on one of the regional or national institutional associations recognized by the United States Secretary of Education
- Classified as a Junior or Senior (a participant cannot be graduating before the program begins) enrolled in one of the following academic disciplines full-time, or a Graduate or Post-doctorate student enrolled in a college or university at least part-time in one of the following academic disciplines: Applied and Computational Mathematics, Computer Forensics and Digital Investigations, Electrical Engineering, Enterprise Computing Management, Information Systems, Security Systems, Computer Information systems, Computer and Digital Forensics, Cyber Security, Digital Investigation Management, Information Assurance and Security Networks and Telecommunications Management, Software Engineering, Computer Studies, Computer and Information Security, Computer Information Technology, Education, Computer Security Information, Security Networking, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Computer Forensics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, Programming, Web Developer, Database Development
- Minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, and in good standing with their academic institution
- Able to meet all FBI employment requirements as well as be able to pass an FBI Background Investigation and receive a Top Secret Security Clearance
- Students must be willing to participate for a term of at least 10 weeks or longer usually beginning in early June and ending in mid-August
- Students must be willing to participate 40 hours per week
- All travel costs will be sole responsibility of the student
