Internships - Fulton

The Washington Redskins are seeking qualified individuals to join the Community Relations/Charitable Foundation Department as an Intern. The right individual will be able to work as part of a team or individually. The ideal candidate will be able to receive college credit for a year-long internship experience; however, exceptional applicants only available for one semester internships will still be considered.

Overview of Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation and Community Relations Department

Founded in 2000 by Daniel M. Snyder, the mission of the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation is to utilize the assets of the NFL franchise and its corporate and community partners to make a positive and measurable impact on youth development in the greater Washington, DC region in the areas of education, community outreach, and health and wellness. The mission of the Washington Redskins Community Relations Department is to be responsive to the needs of the community while also making a positive and significant impact through community programs, events, and the support of area nonprofits.

Fall Internship Responsibilities (August – December)

 Assist coordinating and implementing Charitable Foundation and Community Relations Department programs and events including, but not limited to:

• Coach of the Week/Coach of the Year
• Redskins Replay
• Maryland License Plate program
• Media and program tracking
• Write articles for team publications
• Donations
• Fan Mail
• Assist with the planning and execution of NFL Tuesday events
• Assist with community-related game day operations
• Other duties as assigned

Spring Internship Responsibilities (January – May)

 Assist coordinating and implementing Charitable Foundation and Community Relations Department programs and events including, but not limited to:

• Maryland License Plate program
• Media and program tracking
• Write articles for team publications
• Donations
• Fan Mail
• Assist with the planning and execution of events and fundraisers
• Assist with the annual company-wide team signing
• Other duties as assigned

Summer Internship Responsibilities (May – August)

Assist coordinating and implementing Charitable Foundation and Community Relations Department programs and events including, but not limited to:

• Training Camp
• Maryland License Plate program
• Media and program tracking
• Write articles for team publications
• Donations
• Fan Mail
• Assist with the planning and execution of events and fundraisers
• Assist with the annual company-wide team signing
• Other duties as assigned

Intern Candidate Requirements:

•  Full-time undergraduate/graduate student
• Candidate MUST receive college credit in order to qualify for this internship – proof of credit letter from your College or University is required
• Polite, positive, self-starter who works well with others
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
• Strong writing skills – a 1 to 3 page writing sample will be required
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Can work independently when given a task and have the focus to follow through & follow-up if problems arise
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite proficient)
• Proactive in asking questions when needed
• Team player, humble enough to handle a variety of tasks; no job beneath them
• Ability to handle physical requirements of job including setting up equipment for events and other light to medium lifting
• Ability to interact with players, staff, and the community in a professional manner
• Proven experience to appropriately work with and around confidential information is necessary
