Event
Coordinator Guerrieri University Center.
The Event Coordinator will be responsible for creating events for
students that will take place in the Guerrieri University Center. This
position requires an ability to work closely with many different sectors
of the building to construct and carry out events. The GUC Event
Coordinator will be responsible for generating new and exciting ideas as
well as researching and planning every detail of an event.
General Duties:
Brainstorm new ideas to utilize the building’s resources.
Research for all events, create detailed outline of all events including
a budget and present it to the Director in a detailed and organized
fashion.
Communicate orally and provide written directions for Event Assistants
to explain their responsibilities.
Be present at a number of events to take notes on how to build a better
event.
Work with many different organizations including but not limited to;
Student Organizations, Activities, and Leadership, Dining Services,
Housekeeping, SU Cultural Affairs, as well as faculty and staff.
Coordinate publicity and advertisements for events.
Qualifications:
Leadership experience is required. Applicants must be a full-time
student enrolled at Salisbury University. Candidates need to be
creative, resourceful, work well independently, have the ability to
delegate tasks, and be comfortable working within a budget. Candidates
must possess at least a 2.0 GPA.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work well with a group and independently.
Must be able to exude confidence when carrying out events.
Effective and efficient written and oral communication skills.
Skill in continuously seeking to improve the quality of the service
provided.
Ability to solve problems under pressure, and make sound judgments.

This position will begin with 40 hrs/week this summer and continue with

Blackwell
Library has the following jobs open for the Summer term (June 2 -
August 31): Circulation Desk - checking books in and out,
waiting on students, etc. - Monday - Thursday 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. and
Saturday 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Government Documents - checking in and
shelving federal and state government documents - Monday - Friday - 5 -
10 hours / week. Reference Desk - waiting on students at the
reference desk, refilling paper in printers, etc. - 20 hours / week.
Shelving - re-shelving books that have been returned - 5 hours per week.
Pay is $6.55 / hour. Please have students come to the circulation
desk of the library to fill out an application.
Student
Position: Learning Assistants. Number of Openings: 2.
Description: Teaching & Learning Resources is seeking student learning
assistants to provide support to faculty developing projects within the
Verizon Studio. Applicant should be computer literate and have a broad
knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as FrontPage
or HTML web page design. Applicants with experience with MyClasses,
Microsoft Access, Adobe Photoshop, and video rendering/editing software
or other appropriate software will receive higher preference.
Dependability, ability to work with faculty and motivation to learn new
applications are absolute necessities. The successful candidate must be
a self-starter who is a “people-person.” He/she will be responsible for
the security of the Verizon Studio when on duty. This is a very
flexible, 10-15 hour/week position with a salary of $9.00/hour and the
possibility of employment extending through the summer.

receiving and stocking freight for the Bookstore. Seeking dependable,

SUMMER
CONFERENCE ASSISTANT - Summer Position available from May 27
– August 15, 2008 Position responsibilities include working with
summer camp & conference directors and guests to assist in coordinating
campus facilities and services required for their programs. This person
also communicates with University Campus staff, i.e. Dining Services,
Housing, Custodial Services, IT, Technical Services, University Park,
etc. on a regular basis to ensure that all such facilities and services
are available when needed.
This position requires a person that is efficient in time management;
multi-tasking, works well with people, and can work independently.
Knowledge of University campus operations, facilities
and services is preferred.
Some evening and week end duty is required.

Student Assistant-Salisbury University Residence Life-Phone

responsibilities being in summer operations. The job will require some
of the follow physical labor: installation of residence hall furniture
and organization of storage spaces.

The
Office of the President and Provost (FALL SEMESTER)
is searching for a student to fill a part-time position,
starting September 2, 2008.
The student worker should possess the following:
Dependability a must.
Ability to complete work thoroughly, accurately, neatly and according to
specifications with minimal errors.
Excellent customer service skills, and be able to effectively
communicate with faculty, staff, alumni, employers, and clients, both on
the phone and in person.
Good computer skills (Word, Groupwise and Excel) preferred. A professional and cheerful attitude, be responsible for
assigned projects, be team-oriented, have the ability to prioritize,
multi-task and work independently.
Prefer availability for year round employment. Must be willing to
alternate shifts with other workers during winter and summer break
periods. Preference will be given to students who can work summers.
General job duties include, but are not limited to, answering multi-line

supplies, prepare work orders, faxing, filing and support staff with
projects.

Graduate
Assistant The Financial Aid Office at Salisbury University is
seeking a graduate student assistant for the 2008-2009 academic year
with a start date in August 2008 (FALL 2008). The graduate assistant will be
responsible for performing data entry and analysis as well as updating
and reconciling loan, grant and scholarship disbursements. This position
is also expected to provide office and customer support and will be
assigned special projects as the need arises. The assistantship requires
a high level of professionalism as well as confidentiality and the
student is expected to work 20 hours per week. Proficiency in Microsoft
Excel and Word is required and a background in accounting is preferred.
This position will be awarded for one academic year and offers a stipend
and tuition remission for up to 18 credit hours per academic year.
Enrollment in a Master’s degree program is required for this graduate
student position and students must be registered for a course load of at
least 6-9 masters’ level credits per semester. Applicants should apply

SPORTS INFORMATION GRADUATE ASSISTANT
SALISBURY UNIVERSITY (Md.)
Salisbury University’s Sports Information Office is seeking a highly
motivated and energetic graduate assistant for the 2008-09 academic
year.
Applicants for the position must be accepted into a SU graduate program
and have a bachelor's degree in either journalism, communications or
sport management and/or have related experience in athletic media
relations. A proven background in writing, meeting deadlines and strong
communication skills are a must.
The successful candidate will assist in the coverage of the Sea Gulls’
21 varsity sports with specific sport responsibilities assigned upon
hiring. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, game-day
operations and management, statistics, athletic publications, Web site
maintenance, media relations and press release writing, and assisting in
the overseeing and development of student assistants working in the

openings and summer employment. University Police.
Job Description: answers emergency telephones for University Police and
dispatches calls to officers by two-way radio. Monitor closed-circuit TV
cameras and fire alarm & burglar alarm systems. Hours Needed:
Dispatchers provide 24-hour coverage. Must be able to work nights and

Graduate
Assistant for Greek Life & Leadership. Reporting to the
Student Life Coordinator, the GA for Greek Life will assist with the
overall operations of the Greek Life Program serving approximately 400
initiated and new members in 6 fraternities and 5 sororities. The GA
will support the advising, leadership development, programming and
recruitment efforts of the IFC, Panhellenic Council, Order of Omega,
Greek Steering Committee and Greek Week Committee. The GA will serve as
advisor to the National Society for Leadership & Success and collaborate
with Residence Life on activities for the living learning community
“Lead Scholars”. The GA will develop and facilitate leadership programs
such as the Leadership Lecture Series, Regional Conference, Leadership
Retreat and Leadership Workshop Series. The GA will participate in all
designated OSAO&L team projects, including weekly staff meetings,

Graduate
Assistant for Student Activities & Programming,
Reporting to the Director of Student Activities, Organizations and
Leadership, the GA for Student Activities & Programming will assist with
the overall operations of the OSAO&L, including oversight of 100
registered student clubs and organizations. The GA will assist in the
development and facilitation of event planning and leadership
development activities sponsored by the OSAO&L. The GA will serve as the
advisor to the student programming board (SOAP) and co-advisor to the
Student Government Association. The GA will coordinate Welcome Week
activities and supervise undergraduate chair persons. The GA will
participate in all OSAO&L team projects including weekly meetings,
concerts, service events, etc. The GA will hold regular office hours

University Center Information Desk Attendant.
Operate various equipment (cash register, fax machine, laminator,
copier, computer, telephone and safe), sale of tickets for student
activities and related events, sale of all retail and sundry items,
distribute campus and community information to students, staff, faculty
and visitors, distribute magazines and newspapers, direct traffic to
various meeting rooms and areas in the University Center, pass along
comments and requests of patrons, offer suggestions for improvement, and
other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Basic Qualifications: Positive mental attitude, ability to handle
responsibility, ability to show initiative, good communication skills,
ability to work with all types of people, ability to answer questions
courteously and concisely and to dispense information effectively.
Skills: Ability to handle money accurately and use a cash register,
ability to use (or agree to use) a fax machine, copier, laminator,
telephone and computer.
Physical: Clean appearance, wears the information desk shirt while
on duty.
Academic: Must be a Salisbury University student and possess a 2.0 GPA

Job Requirements: Work 5-15 hours per week depending on class schedule,
work weekends, ability to work nights as needed, ability to work on
Parents Weekend and other special events as needed, agree to come back
to work on the day the dorms open (usually two days before classes
begin) and work until the dorms close- this includes holidays and end of

Writing Center. University Writing Center Consultant.
Application Procedure: We are now accepting applications. Successful
candidates would enroll in a Spring 2008 training course and begin
working at the Writing Center in Fall 2008. Visit the Writing Center to

applications and offer interviews to selected job candidates. Rate
of Pay: $8 per hour. Part-time. The number of students who work as
peer consultants during any one semester varies depending upon funding,
the needs of the Center, and the number of peer consultants available.
The number of hours any one student works is negotiated each semester;
the normal work load is 6-12 hours per week. Students are paid by the
hour for their work in the Center and for any staff development meetings
held at the Center. Position Description: Consultants will work
one-on-one with student writers, providing relevant feedback about the
student’s text and facilitating the student’s growth as a writer.
Requirements: Consultants must possess strong writing and interpersonal
skills. They will need to be attentive listeners who can work
collaboratively with others and can develop rapport quickly with student
writers. This position requires flexibility and versatility, since
clients who visit the Center have a wide range of writing abilities,
learning styles, and personality traits. Applicants must have
successfully completed at least one writing-intensive course at
Salisbury University. Students from all majors are welcome to apply.
Those who are hired as consultants must complete required training and
all related training assignments. If you are offered the job as
writing consultant, you must register for a three-credit training class
(ENGL 494), which you must complete to the satisfaction of the
University Writing Center director before you start tutoring in the
