arboretum 1

Welcome to Salisbury University’s virtual Arboretum. Our campus is a place for the scientific study and public display of various species of woody and herbaceous plants. The school began its collection of plants in 1985 and in the spring of 1988, American Public Gardens Association (APGA) granted The University arboretum status.  The arboretum has become an integral part of the 167-acre campus and exists to provide an attractive landscape setting, conducive to learning, that demonstrates the diversity of the plant kingdom.

Dr. Chris Briand, SU Professor of Biological Sciences, has created an astounding record of the University Arboretum’s holdings. Find everything from the types of fruit on the various species to a biography of an artist who has created a sculpture you will find on campus.
Take a few minutes to click through our virtual Arboretum that will provide detailed information about both the plant life and sculpture you will find at Salisbury University. Hopefully this will inspire you to spend some time exploring our campus and discover for yourself the vast beauty that awaits you.
