The Center for Student Achievement (CSA) recognizes an outstanding undergraduate student for their academic accomplishments each month. The Scholar Holler recipient is recognized on the CSA website, CSA Facebook and receives a gift card to the bookstore. The September 2016 winner was Megan Newcomer and the October 2016 winner was Aaron Wall, both are Perdue students.

Frank Shipper attended the Mid-Year Fellows Workshop in Honor of Louis O. Kelso January 15-17, 2017, in New Brunswick, NJ.
In a decision dated November 22, 2016, the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit upheld a Financial Industries Regulatory Authority (FINRA) arbitration award in favor of Dr. E. Patrick McDermott’s client for an amount close to $1,000,000. This leading case in securities arbitration was reported in various major financial news services, law reviews, law firm blogs and firm client communications. McDermott noted: “This case helps me add real-world situations to my lectures concerning corporate compliance, leadership, industry culture, ethics and the employment conditions of a financial advisor for large brokerage firms. It also complements my law courses as students see that they have a professor who has successfully argued appeals at the U.S. Courts of Appeal.”
