Keynote Address at African-American Heritage Day Given by Small

SALISBURY, MD--Dr. Clara L. Small, associate professor of history in the Charles R. And Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts at Salisbury State University, was the keynote speaker for the second annual African-American Heritage Day celebration at the Ross Mansion in Seaford, DE, recently.
 
The purpose of the festival is to make the public aware of the contributions of African-Americans and the conditions under which they labored and the challenges faced in everyday life. The theme of this year's celebration was "Pressing Toward the Mark."
 
The festival was co-sponsored by African-American Reflections, the Seaford Historical Society and the Ross Mansion. The mMistress of Ceremony was Teresa West, the owner of African- American Reflections. The president of the Seaford Historical Society is Claudia Melson.
