"Visual Art & Craft Sale Funds Two New Scholarships"
SALISBURY, MD--CCART, the Cavallaro/Cleary Art Foundation for the Visual Arts, a new non-profit foundation established by two Salisbury State University faculty along with members of the local arts community, has successfully completed its first scholarship art sale.
"We wish to thank everyone for supporting the first annual Visual Art and Crafts Sale for Scholarships," said Marie Cavallaro of the Art Department. "A special thanks to Salisbury State University art students, the Salisbury Wicomico Arts Council, campus Public Relations and Publications offices, Peninsula Printing, Cleary Design and the customers and friends of CCART. We have succeeded in gaining funds to add to two scholarship funds created for the visual arts."
The first, the SSU Art Scholarship Fund, started in 1984, is for SSU art majors. The second, the new community-based visual arts foundation CCART scholarship, will benefit high school students of the Delmarva Peninsula seeking further education in the visual arts. This scholarship may be used at the art institution of their choice.
"We look forward to the New Year with new promotion and grant offerings through CCART," said Cavallaro. Other founding members of CCART include SSU art faculty John Cleary and Jane Bailey, Beth Hebert and Sue Thomas. For more information call 410-546-1068.
