Instruction Policies

Timing

Instruction requests must be submitted at least one week in advance of the face-to-face session. Library sessions require planning time for hands-on and interactive strategies.

Connection to Coursework

Library instruction focuses on a specific research assignment at the students' time of need. A copy of the research assignment itself must be shared with the librarian along with any additional information that the course instructor can provide to optimize planning.

Collaboration

In general, please plan to work with your librarian. Library instruction is optimally effective when the course instructor and instruction librarian collaborate, plan, and co-teach the session. Librarians have information insight. Course instructors know the nuances of subject and assignment content. It's a win-win. Let's work together!
