Home to more than 8,700 students from around the world, Salisbury University has a reputation for excellence in public higher education. With over 40 undergraduate majors, a creative curriculum emphasizes research, study abroad, professional internships and community engagement. Graduate programs are expanding throughout Maryland and abroad; offerings include an online M.S.W. and M.B.A., and doctorates in education and nursing practice.

SU alumni are leaders in their fields, including Perdue Farms Chairman Jim Perdue, Atlanta Falcons Head Coach Dan Quinn, Warner Bros. Senior Vice President Barry Ziehl and “Fearless Girl” Sculptor Kristen Visbal. Education graduates regularly are honored as Teachers of the Year, while nursing students consistently have the state’s highest licensure pass rates and respiratory therapy produces the most baccalaureate graduates in the country. A new College of Health and Human Services is set to launch this fall.

Building on a tradition of student entrepreneurship long before it was popular, SU annually awards some $300,000 to fund business startups, expansion and innovation. A recent $5.5 million gift will support the renowned Perdue School of Business and a new Center for Entrepreneurship. SU’s impact on the Eastern Shore economy is estimated at nearly half a billion dollars annually.

Active in Salisbury’s downtown redevelopment, the University’s arts programs have made the campus a regional cultural center. SU is home to two NPR affiliates, the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra, the Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture, and the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art, one of USA Today’s 10 best places for American folk art.

Sea Gull fans cheer on NCAA Division III championship teams at state-of-the-art athletics complexes. Student scholars earn prestigious fellowships, and live and learn on the beautiful 200-acre campus, which features a new award-winning library as its academic hub. Consistently ranked as one of the nation’s best in quality and value by U.S. News & World Report, The Princeton Review and others, Salisbury University is educating its students and energizing the region with imagination and vision.
