The English Language Institute (ELI) at Salisbury University

The English Language Institute (ELI) at Salisbury University offers year-round instruction for all levels of English. For many reasons, this is the perfect place to study English, enjoy American life and experience American culture.

Salisbury University

Established in 1925, Salisbury University (SU) is a regionally accredited public four-year institution with 58 graduate and undergraduate programs and is part of the state University System of Maryland.  SU has a strong institutional commitment to inclusiveness, excellence, and diversity.  At SU, there are more than 8,600 students from 37 states and 68 countries studying a wide variety of fields – business, biology, mathematics, education, fine art, social work, information technology, nursing, and community health are just a few.

The City of Salisbury

Salisbury is located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, a region known for its beautiful rivers, bountiful wildlife, and lovely beaches.  The city’s population, about 30,000, is a great mix of individuals, couples, and families.  Salisbury’s combination of major businesses (Perdue, Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Walmart, Coca-Cola), shopping venues, agricultural land, and community events make it a delightful place to live.  Salisbury’s residents are friendly and helpful, and they enjoy chances to come together at art gatherings, musical performances, or minor league baseball games.  Local seasonal events include a Christmas parade, Sunfest, Pork in the Park, Independence Day Fireworks, and many more.  Salisbury is a four-season city where you can soak up the summer sun, witness the changing leaves of autumn, watch the snow fall in winter, and marvel at the blossoms in spring.  Salisbury is 30 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean, 2.5 hours from Washington D.C. and Philadelphia, and 4 hours from New York City.
