Charlie received a nomination from Dr. Rebecca Emery, Director of Career Services, for his proactive initiatives and service. In support of these attributes, Dr. Emery noted that “Charlie suggests, develops and implements something before we even know we were in desperate need of it.” She continues by providing examples which included the eRecruiting database and the Alumni Mentor Network accessibility to students. These not only demonstrated his proactive nature but also his tenacity and determination to see the two year project to completion. Additionally, Charlie is involved with the Living Learning Community, supports various search committees, reaches out to strengthen relationships with employers, serves on a local nonprofit Board of Directors and leads a career consortium in which SU participates. In closing, Dr. Emery summarized that Charlie enriches their office with his technical skills and innovation, as well as being a great employee and sought-after colleague.
