Retail Food Service Supervisor (Chick-fil-A) – 2 Positions

Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Retail Food Service Supervisor (Chick-fil-A) in the University Dining Services department. There are two (2) positions available.

Primary Job Duties: Under the supervision of the Retail Assistant Manager, the Retail Food Service Supervisor leads part-time student and non-student workers to provide exemplary customer service and quality food options in the on-campus Chick-fil-A. The Supervisor strictly adheres to brand, service and sanitation standards while maximizing efficiency. The position also exemplifies the core behaviors of the Chick-fil-A model and leads staff to do the same. The Supervisor trains new and existing staff to adapt to procedures, menu additions and systems. Responsibilities also include working with unit manager to order, requisition, receive and inspect food and supplies and record keeping including but not limited to attendance and disciplinary action.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma/GED and a minimum of two (2) years in food service with one (1) year in a lead or supervisor role.

Working knowledge of POS systems. General knowledge and skill in applying federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations applicable to food service activities. General knowledge of and skill in the use of procedures and standards of quality and quantity food selection, food preservation, food preparation, meal service, portion control, labor utilization and responsiveness to customer requests and concerns. Thorough knowledge of and skill in the use of food service equipment and materials. Skills in providing guidance to food service personnel including the use of team-building, problem resolution, and follow-through. Ability to organize and supervise the work of food service operations and control workload to assure quality service; to instruct food service personnel; to assist in preparing and serving food; to prepare and maintain written records and reports; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to work in irritating environments and adverse temperature conditions; to lift, transport and stock food service supplies, materials and equipment. Ability to work in a fast paced environment and be a strong team player with demonstrated excellent customer service. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to acquire ServeSafe certification within six (6) months of hire date.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in retail food sales and operation/customer service.

This is a full-time, non-exempt, State position with a full benefits package. Starting salary is $30,962.00 annually, which is approximately $14.84 per hour.
