Beth Prouse earned a B.S. degree in Medical Laboratory Science from Salisbury University and an M.S. degree from Catholic University of America in Clinical Laboratory Science. She served as a staff microbiologist and as a supervisor at Children’s National Medical Center prior to returning to Peninsula Regional Medical Center as the supervisor of the Microbiology Department. Information and changes in clinical microbiology are exploding as new things are learned about old pathogens, new pathogens are discovered, organisms develop resistance and global travel and immigration drastically change the mix of organisms found in the medical microbiology laboratory. Ms. Prouses strong academic background and diverse clinical experiences make her ideal for her role as the program’s expert in clinical microbiology.
