Myth #1: Salisbury gets all the money it needs from Maryland.

FACT: State money only makes up about 20% of Salisbury's operating budget. That means 80% of the cost to educate a Salisbury student is is funded by tuition, fees, other revenue, and private support.

Myth #2: Salisbury has thousands of alumni; it doesn't need me.

FACT: Are you one of the 6.5% of Salisbury alumni who give back each year? Alumni participation is one of the measures used by ranking organizations. A gift - of any amount - helps increase SU's ranking and the value of your diploma.

Myth #3: I can only give a modest amount. That won't help SU.

FACT:
On SU's inaugural Giving Day, 487 donors came together to raise over $80,000 - most giving modest amounts. Every gift, when combined with others, will make a difference.

Myth #4: I already supported Salisbury by paying my tuition.
