I believe that teachers and children learn through active engagement in supportive and collaborative contexts. Learning involves a series of steps that move from modeling, explicit instruction, guided practice, and extensive practice that leads to independence. Each learner is unique and a good teacher recognizes his/her strengths and needs and builds upon the strengths and addresses the needs.
