Coffee Matters: Accommodating Pregnant and Parenting Student

Protections from discrimination for pregnant and parenting students are among the lesser known aspects of Title IX. With the increase of “non-traditional” students on campus and the shifting views on the balance between education, career, and family, this aspect of Title IX is “the new frontier”. The effects of pregnancy discrimination in the academic pipeline are only now being subject to increased scrutiny. Therefore, being well-versed in providing reasonable accommodations to pregnant and parenting students is critical to ensuring equal educational access to all students, which is the basis of complying fully with Title IX.

This free program, sponsored by the Office of Institutional Equity, is open to students, faculty and staff.

A free hot breakfast will be provided to those in attendance.

For more information, please contact Kelly Prunty at or 410-677-5311.

.
