Please be advised that the MAT is a competitive program and limited spaces are available. No guarantee of acceptance exists for any applicant; however, we will make every effort to accommodate qualified candidates. To be considered for the next MAT cohort, your application will follow a five-step process.
Step 1: Contact MAT Program Director
Contact Dr. Starlin Weaver, MAT Program Director, with any questions you may have regarding the MAT program. Dr. Royer can be reached via email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Step 2: Apply online to the MAT program http://www.salisbury.edu/apply
Salisbury University offers approved programs for certification in:
|Earth Science||Music (instrumental & vocal)|
Step 3: Submit all prior higher education transcripts
To be eligible for the MAT program, applicants must have the equivalent of an undergraduate degree in one of the certification areas listed above. Coursework must have been taken within the past 10 years with a GPA of 3.0 or better to be considered. If you are a Salisbury University graduate, you do not need to submit official transcripts.
Once your transcripts are submitted, they will be reviewed by the content-area advisor. Dr. Weaver will then send you the results indicating whether any additional coursework may be needed. If you have significant content area deficiencies, you may need to complete most of those courses before being admitted to the MAT program. The schedule for completing deficient content-area courses will be created with your content-area advisor.
Step 4: Complete your online application
~ Submit three (3) letters of recommendation
~ Submit passing test scores for Praxis Core, SAT, GRE or ACT
Step 5: Interview
Applicants who have met initial admissions requirement will be scheduled during mid-October/early November for an interview with the MAT Admissions Committee. Final admission decisions will be made in November.
