Meet Our Staff

The staff consists of counselors, social workers, interns and support staff with diverse backgrounds. Members of our staff include:

Acting Director

Nikki Allen DyerNikki Allen Dyer, LCSW-C, Acting Director,
Nikki joined the counseling staff in 2014. She was a graduate intern in the Counseling Center and earned a Master of Social Work from Salisbury University in May 2013. In 2000, she earned a Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from the College of William and Mary and has previously worked in multiple areas of Student Affairs to include SU’s Office of Student Disability Support Services.

Senior Staff

 Dawn HarnerDawn Harner, LCSW-C, CTM Training Coordinator/Counselor,
Dawn joined the Counseling Center staff in 2005. She completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at then Salisbury State University in 1996 and earned her master's degree in social work from the University of Maryland at Baltimore in 1998. She previously worked for the Worcester County Health Department from 1996-2005. During her tenure there, she provided therapy to children and adolescents in a K-12 school-based program, worked for the Crisis Response Team and conducted diagnostic evaluations with juveniles for the Worcester County Circuit Court. Currently, Dawn provides individual and group therapy to SU students using an eclectic approach and oversees the Training Program at the Counseling Center. She provides clinical supervision for graduate interns and is registered with the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners to provide clinical supervision to staff for advanced licensure. In addition, Dawn is a member of SU's Coordinated Care Response Team, has completed basic and advanced training in threat assessment through SIGMA, is a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP), and is a Certified Threat Manager (CTM). Since 2015, she's been an adjunct professor for Salisbury University's School of Social Work Graduate Program. She currently teaches Psychopathology and Field Instruction III and has taught Practice I in the past

Sabrina joined the Counseling Center as a part-time staff member in 2014. She earned her undergraduate degree in educational psychology in 2003 from the University of Asmara in Eritrea, East Africa. She later completed two graduate degree programs from Ohio University, including the Master of Arts in International Affairs (MAIA), and the Master of Social Work (MSW) in 2009. Prior to joining our staff, she worked at various refugee resettlement agencies that served diverse populations in Columbus, Ohio, and Atlanta, Georgia. Currently, she is a full-time counselor and a licensed social worker (LMSW) in the state of Maryland.

Cassidy ZellerCassidy Zeller, LCPC, Counselor,
Cassidy joined the counseling staff in 2015. She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology at Millersville University in 2009, and her graduate degree in clinical mental health counseling from Shippensburg University in 2014. She was working at an outpatient agency providing mental health and drug and alcohol counseling to clients of all ages in Pennsylvania before joining our staff.
