Stay Up to Date on SU's COVID-19 Precautions

Welcome to PRESTO!

PRESTO offers learners of all ages individual (and some small group lessons) in piano, strings, voice, guitar, percussion, theatre and most wind and brass instruments. We work closely with the Music and Theatre Department faculty and students.

Lessons are taught by professionals – either faculty or vetted regional musicians – OR by trained and gifted Salisbury University students. SU Student Instructors are selected by faculty advisors to whom they may consult concerning pedagogy or repertoire.

After enrolling online, a student is assigned an instructor. The instructor will call the student/parent to create a customized weekly lesson schedule for late afternoon, evening or Saturday morning. All lessons are held on the campus of Salisbury University.

As a division of the Center for Extended and Lifelong Learning, PRESTO is dedicated to enriching the lives of all our students.

  • News for the Spring 2020 Session

Cheryl Florin, from Saratoga Springs NY, has been a Piano Teacher/Chamber Coach there for many years and is very excited to be joining The Presto Program at Salisbury University as a Piano Teacher this semester.
"My philosophy in teaching is in the belief in Talent Education and healthy piano skills. Every person is born with ability that can be nurtured and guided to create space for growth and development. To know how to play an instrument is a gift, and when you receive this gift, it belongs to you forever. And the journey becomes yours!" Ms. Florin is an experienced and trained Taubman/Golandsky Teacher and is a Certified Suzuki Teacher.

Joshua Dennis is "... pleased and excited to join the many skilled and talented teachers of PRESTO" as a voice instructor. A junior music education student at Salisbury University, Josh is extremely passionate about inspiring students and watching them grow. Under the instruction of Dr. John Wesley Wright, Joshua has placed in the regional level of the NATS student auditions. “PRESTO provides us, as music teachers, an outlet to connect to our community. It also allows us to give our students an environment to learn music in a way that promotes self-discovery and a building of diligence that is sure to follow them into their future ventures.”
