COVID-19 Precautions Continue for Fall Semester

Welcome to PRESTO!

PRESTO offers learners of all ages individual (and some small group lessons) in piano, strings, voice, guitar, percussion, theatre and some wind and brass instruments. We work closely with the Music and Theatre Department faculty and students.

Because of COVID-19, ALL Fall 2020 PRESTO lessons will be taught ONLINE.

January 2021 Online Individual Lessons Fees (all ages) - Returning Students Only

Lessons are taught by professionals – either faculty or vetted regional musicians – OR by trained and gifted Salisbury University students. SU Student Instructors are selected by faculty advisors to whom they may consult concerning pedagogy or repertoire.

Please Note: Not all PRESTO teachers will be available for the January session.  Please contact your teacher or the PRESTO office for further information.

Individual Lessons – 4 week session – one lesson per week – starting the week of January 4 through January 29, 2021.

Register for January Individual Lessons

After enrolling online, a student is assigned an instructor. The instructor will call the student/parent to create a customized weekly lesson schedule for late afternoon, evening or Saturday morning. All lessons will be taught online (Zoom, Skype or FaceTime) for the January 2021 session.

Welcome to Alice Wigfield as a new voice instructor!

Alice Wigfield has a Bachelor of Music Education from Eastern Kentucky University and a Masters in Music from Salisbury University. She retired after 39 years of teaching music in public and private schools. Mrs. Wigfield has taught private voice for 35 years to singers of all ages, and specializes in work with children and teens. Mrs. Wigfield’s children and adult choirs have received many awards for outstanding performance. She is known in our region for being the music director/conductor of the MAGI Choral Festival for 25 years, leading a 125-185 voice MAGI Children’s Choir and massed choirs. Mrs. Wigfield served as the Artistic Director of the Salisbury University Children’s Choir from February 2019 until June 2020, leading children as they develop vocal skills, musicianship, sight singing and ear training through exposure to quality repertoire. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the SU Children’s Choir will be postponed until restrictions are lifted.
